Mr & Mrs Farhid
Mr and Mrs Farhid depicts a couple sitting on a comfortable sofa, they are still for the most part as if traumatised by their surroundings which are emptied out of belongings and everyday things. The camera is still, a silent observer of a couple's silence, their silence however is overlaid by a woman's voice broadcasting a series of weather reports, an incessant prediction of the future with all its options, possibilities and probabilities. At intervals in this obsessive incantation are sounds of conflict - explosions, gunfire, air raid sirens, a helicopter drones into the space and out again ambiguously posing a threat or as another observer or as rescuer.
